The Spectacular Phi Phi Islands lie to the east of Phuket & to the south of Krabi in the Andaman sea and form the Koh Phi Phi National Park. White limestone crags splashed with greenery jut vertically upwards out of the clear turquoise waters to tower over magnificent white sandy beaches. Koh Phi Phi was made famous by Alexander Garlands novel "The Beach" - the film starring Leonardo Di Caprio. The movie was actually filmed on Maya beach on Phi Phi Leh.

Phi Phi is one of the best less crowded places to base yourself for some excellent diving. Due to its location it is a short distance to a lot of fantastic dive sites which allows a relaxing diving day with time over for other activities in the afternoon.
Leopard sharks abound in the Andaman see and you are virtually guaranteed to see one on the dive sites around Phi Phi - the Bida Islands are a prime site for spotting them. Also be sure that if you visit Phi Phi that you make the effort to dive Koh Ha & Hin Daeng / Muang - Thailands more southern dive sites. The southern areas offer an abundance of magnificent local open water as well as cave & cavern diving.
