Diving Safety
Diving is statistically a very safe sport. You are far less likely to have an accident or sustain an injury compared to many other activities. However in the unlikely event of an incident Thailand has professionally operated re-compression chambers as well as many excellent medical facilities.

To minimize the chances of anything untoward happening read our diving safety tips . . .

Liquid Adventure has been in Khao Lak for seven years and is considered to be one of the well established dive centers in Khao Lak. In difference to many other dive centers, we were here before the tsunami and we took an active part in re-building Khao Lak.

We opened in time for the 2002-2003 season. At the time we were Kon-Tiki Khao Lak. Our shop was situated between Nang Tong Bay Resort and Happy Lagoon, at the time a small resort with only 10 bungalows. Quite a few of our guests are groups couples and families, where some dive and some prefer snorkeling. Because of that we have made an effort to organize our trips to suit both divers and snorklers.

In the tsunami our shop was completely demolished and we lost all of our equipment. All of us survived, and for the season after, there was no doubt, we wanted to re-open our shop in Khao Lak. Our landlord wasn't willing to re-build our shop in the same spot as before, but offered us to take over a shop further up the same street.

The 2005-2006 season, Khao Lak was nearly empty. We didn't really have any money, so the first months we built our own furniture and decorations for the shop. We didn't have a boat this season, and booked ourselves onto other dive boats. I would like to take this opportunity to especially thank everyone who came back that first season after the tsunami (Margaret & Tracey, Christine & Mario, Wojciech, David Archer to mention a few). You all made a huge difference.

By working extra during low season, saving as much as we could, we got enough money to first rent a speedboat for the 2006-2007 season, and for the season after to buy our own boat. That gave us capacity to take care of our guests without having to adjust to anyone else.

In the summer of 2008, after a season with engine problems, we decided to buy new environmentally friendly 4-stroke engines. It was also time to paint the boat, and we wanted our boat to stand out. We decided to paint the boat black, and when we were ready for high season we had the sexiest boat on the Similans.
